The concert commemorating the 80th anniversary of the liquidation of the Terezín family camp at Auschwitz’s block BIIb was without a doubt a dignified conclusion to the Memorial of Silence’s concert cycle. The Riding School at Prague Castle was an extraordinary setting for this symbolic commemorative event, and the audience’s great standing ovation was a powerful show of appreciation for the performing artists and those whose memory we honored that day.
At the conclusion of the evening, Jitka Čvančarová’s rendition of the song Horchat Hai Caliptus resounded over Prague as a unique remembrance and a warning in the face of contemporary conflicts that are awakening hatred and antisemitism.
We would like to thank President Petr Pavel for his brief video greeting.
Many thanks also go to our partners from Prague Castle Administration, the Prague Symphony Orchestra, all the performing artists, and the event’s media partner, Czech Television.VIDEO RECORDING OF THE CONCERT
